Founder of The Ja’o’ji Organization, Nasiru Bala Aminu Ja’o’ji has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for holding a nationwide broadcast to address issues arose from the #EndBadGovernance protest.
In a statement he personally signed on Sunday, Ja’oji described Tinubu as democratic and humane for listening to the yearnings and aspirations of Nigerians.
“We salute President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Nationwide Broadcast on the current nationwide protest across states and Abuja. What a listening President!,” he said.
Tinubu’s broadcast, according to Ja’oji, “illuminates more light in the all-encompassing efforts of his administration, in bringing succor to our individual and collective life.
“President Tinubu’s speech clearly shows how democratic and humane he is as a leader. As many achievements recorded so far by this administration are revealed to all Nigerians, hinting how responsible and responsive the administration is. “We also commend him for recognizing the rights of individuals to ventilate their worries. While at the same time he made it very clear that lives and properties must always be protected. This is responsible leadership by all standards,” part of the statement reads.
“It is important to bravo President Tinubu’s feeling about the ugly incidents in some states of the federation, where he cited Borno, Jigawa, Kano, Kaduna, among others. Which he confessed to be pained by the wanton destruction that took place.
“It is always logical to listen to leaders and elders in the society in situations like this. We can see how Mr President, listed few of the giant strides under his people-orientated leadership.
“Federal government effort in the fiscal side of our economy, when we have government aggregate revenues that have more than doubled, hitting more than 9.1 Trillion Naira in the first half of 2024, compared to the first half of 2023.
“It is indeed commendable to acknowledge the fact that, while in the past, Nigeria was spending 97 percent of our total revenues in debt service, but with the coming of President Tinubu on board, that has been reduced to 68 percent in the last 13 months. This is leadership.
“It is therefore necessary for us, as Nigerians to also see hope and good future in what the President disclosed in his speech, that the federal government has secured $620m under the Digital and Creative Enterprise (IDiCE) to empower young Nigerians and creating IT and technical jobs. Where there would be 3 million Technical Talents Scheme. This is where our youth should direct their energy,” he said.
He pointed out that the President made it clear that, more than N750m has been released to the 36 states to expand livelihood support to their citizens. As 600,000 nano-businesses have benefited from nano-grants. And additional 400,000 more nano-businesses are expected to also benefit.
