Niger State Association of Hotel Proprietors, Suleja branch has raised concern over the alleged ban on the sales and consumption of alcohol and threat to closedown hotels by the Suleja local government council of Niger state.
This was contained in a letter of complaint sent to the Niger State Commissioner of Police signed by the association Chairman, Okosisi Atama Nonso Aiobi in Minna, saying they have no fewer than fifty five registeed members in Suleja.
The Association chairman who warned against the ban however, urged Suleja Local Government council to reverse its ban on sales of alcohol beverages in the area.
Aiobi described the ban as anti people and anti government policy, saying the ban on Alcohol will frustrate the efforts of the state government in making the state a home for all.
The association also said banning of sales of alcohol and its consumption in the state will increase the number of unemployed people in the state, urging state Governor Muhammad Umar Bago to call the local chairman to order.
It also appealed to the Commissioner of Police in the state and the state coordinator of public complaints commission to look into the idea of total ban of alcohol in the state.
