A surveyor in Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr. Sunday Jonah, who is also the Special Adviser to Gwagwalada Area Council Chairman on land matters, has awarded scholarship to 151 students in the area.

Jonah made this known in an interview with newsmen after the disbursement of scholarship to students in Giri Primary School on Friday.

He said the scholarship was given out to students in order to encourage them in their academic pursuit, pointing out that he would continue to assist the less privileged in the society.

He then advised the beneficiaries to make use of scholarship judiciously so as to alleviate their suffering in school and warned them against diverting the money for personal use.

Also speaking, the Chairman of the occasion, Barr. Umar Isah, said the scholarship was awarded to students to empower them academically.

On his part, the Vice Chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council, Hon. Abdullahi Saidu who spoke on behalf of his boss, Hon. Abubakar Jibrin Giri, commended surveyor Sunday Jonah for his initiative.
