A gubernatorial aspirant in Kano state on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC), Engr. Muazu Magaji Dawakin-Tofa, has described the withdrawal of security details of Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, Speaker of the House of Representative, as invitation to anarchy in the country.

According to him, the development is nothing but a snag to the country’s young democracy, adding that it is embarrassment to the number four in the hierarchy of the nation’s leadership, and would end up embarrassing the country in the face of International Community.

Dawakin-Tofa,, who is the leader of APC Youths Vanguard (AYV) in Kano, argued that the speaker’s decision to dump the ruling party for the opposition party was done within the confines of the law, stating that “any attempt to withdraw his privileges and deprive him of his fundamental human and political rights, including freedom of Association and that of expression would be an onslaught of the core value of our democracy.”

An attempt by Federal Government to instigate political crisis will produce nothing but a total system collapse for Nigeria’s young democracy and end up embarrassing the Nation in the face of International Community.”

“Withdrawal of Security aids to such an important personality who is the number 4 in the hierarchy of the Nation’s Leadership and the attempt to destabilise the House of Lower Chamber of National Assembly, due to the Speaker’s personal decision to dump the ruling party is demonstration of crass impunity.” The statement added.

Therefore, the AYV leader boasted that his group shall deploy hundreds of its members to safeguard leaders of their party across the country in an effort to mitigate politically driven assault that might be instigated by PDP.

“We must not relent our effort to render solidarity to any member of our party to avoid political victimization, which the PDP as a ruling party and Presidency conspire to implement on any responsible Politician who decides to join APC”.

The APC card-carrying also commended the Abuja High Court for stopping the PDP from its attempt to unseat the speaker from his position.
