Taraba Gov tasks primary, secondary school teachers to aquire first degree, masters

The Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas, on Sunday said in no distance time, primary school teachers in the State must have first degree and the minimum of masters degree for secondary schools teachers respectively in order to enhance quality of education in the State
Agbu made this known when he hosted Journalists to a new year dinner in Jalingo.
He noted that the issue of education in the State would not be business as usual, and urged Journalists to watch closely to the implementation of his free and compulsory education Programme.
He also reintroduced history subject for primary and secondary schools education curriculum in the State.
“In the nearest future, every primary school teacher must have at least first degree, and in secondary school the minimum of masters degree. And I slashed turtion fees by 50 per cent for tertiary institutions in the State, and I am also aware that someone of the management of this institution are making life unbearable for students, I will find time and go after them.”
Agbu while appreciating Journalists for their balance reportage in the State, promised to renovate Press Center in Jalingo and also provide operational vehicles to the various groups in the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ.
Also speaking, the Taraba State former Commissioner of Information and Reorientation, Barr. Danjuma Adamu urged the governor to partner with Journalists to achieve in his set goals.
In the same vein, State commissioner of information and Reorientation, Zainab Jalingo also called for continued partnership with Journalists to serve the people of the State.
Speaking earlier, Matthew Jen, Chairman of the Taraba State chapter of Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ, and Gabriel Yough, chairman NUJ Correspondent’s Chapel all assured governor for the continued objectives reportage for the interest all.
