Some residents of Taraba State have decried the official commissioning of the uncompleted 5km, Ibi Nwonyo road.
Peoplesdaily reports that governor Agbu Kefas had on Monday, alongside General T.Y Danjuma, officially commissioned the uncompleted 3.5bn road project in the area.
Meanwhile, residents said the governor was unnecessarily hurry to be recognize among Nigeria governors who have commissioned project in their states within the last three years.
They described the governor’s action as disgraceful, sighting the unprecedented development other northeast governors of Adamawa, Gombe, Borno, Bauchi, Yobe and the neighboring Benue and Nassarawa states have made within the last three years.
“It is disgraceful to see an uncompleted project been commissioned by governor Agbu Kefas after being the worst performing in the history of Taraba”. Audu Titus, one of the residents posted on his Facebook account.
A community leader in Ibi local government, Elder Isa Adi, told peoplesdaily that the uncompleted project would rather throw commuters of the road in hardship soon as raining season begins.
Another resident, Solomon Jedie, expressed in a Post that after failing to fulfill his multiple promises, governor Kefas decided to impose an impending hardship on residents of Ibi and commuters.
They called governor Agbu Kefas to re-mobilze the contractor to complete the project.
“Governor Kefas should re-mobilze the contractor to complete the project. The commissioning of the 5km Ibi Nwonyo road project is disgraceful. It’s pose an impending hardship on residents and commuters.
“The governor does not have any project on ground, and it is expected that, he should prioritize quality whenever he decides to attract any”,the residents decried.
