Youth organizations across Taraba State gathered for a joint peaceful rally on Wednesday in Jalingo to commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for establishing the Nigerian Army’s 10 Division within the state.
Demonstrators expressed immense relief and optimism, noting that the new military footprint will serve as a strong defense against persistent security threats in Taraba and the broader North East region.
Speaking on behalf of the Taraba People’s Movement, Comrade Umar Sani Bello expressed gratitude to President Tinubu, the Chief of Defence Staff, and the Chief of Army Staff for responding to the state’s security needs.
Bello confirmed that formal appreciation letters would be delivered to military high command via the Commander of the 6 Brigade in Jalingo.
Bello affirmed the readiness of local residents to collaborate with the newly established division to foster sustainable peace and stability across local communities.
Spokesperson for the Arewa Youth Assembly, Aliyu Mohammad Sani, described the creation of the 10 Division as a historic milestone that fulfills presidential commitments.
He highlighted that a dedicated division familiar with the local terrain would act as a vital fortress for regional security.
Boost to Military Morale: Sani also commended the administration’s recent salary increments for armed forces personnel, describing the decision as a critical morale booster for frontline troops.
The peaceful demonstration concluded with youth leaders reiterating their commitment to supporting security agencies in their ongoing efforts to safeguard lives and property in the state.
