The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has completed the installation and commissioning of a brand new 80MVA capacity 132/33kV transmission substation in Daura and a new 60MVA 132/33kV power transformer in its Katsina Transmission Substation.
The General Manager (P/A), TCN, Ndidi Mbah in a statement said, both projects were commissioned by the Executive Governor of Katsina State, Aminu Bello Masari.
The brand new Daura Substation which comprise 2x40MVA power transformers with 6No 33kV feeders was built to resolve the power supply situation in Daura and environs.
Also, the new 60MVA power transformer with 3No 33kV feeders in Katsina Transmission Substation has increased the stations transmission capacity of the substation from 120MVA to 180MVA, making available more bulk electricity for Kano Electricity Distribution Company to take to its customers in Daura, Katsina and environs.
TCN pledged to continue to work towards putting in place a very robust transmission grid in line with its Transmission Rehabilitation and Expansion Programme.
