TCN restores power supply in Kakuri

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) yesterday announced it has restored power supply to the areas affected by fault on one of its 60MVA power transformers in Kakuri Substation.
The power supply, according to the company was restored as promised by 10.41 pm, on wednesday, 1st January 2020.
Recall, the company announced a fault involving an underground cable connecting 60MVA 132/33kV T3 and its grounding transformer in Kakuri transmission substation, caused slight fire incident that affected the grounding transformer, resulting in the temporal disconnection of power supply to three (3) feeders; namely Arewa, UNTL and Ungwan. Boro feeders.
The General Manager, Public Affairs, TCN, Mrs Ndidi Mbah in a statement said,
TCN engineers quickly restored supply to the affected feeders in the evening, by reconnecting supply through another 60MVA, 132/33kV transformer T1A in the same substation.
The statement said, TCN has not only replaced the affected grounding transformer to maintain N-1 redundancy at the substation, but has repaired the faulty grounding transformer.
“All inconveniences caused by the few hours outage is highly regretted,” the statement said.
