Terrorists Attack: Police Announce New Security Measures in Bauchi

Following the resurgence of terrorists attacks in Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State, security agencies have mobilised operatives to the area to push back against the criminals, build people’s confidence and restore order in the area.

The terrorists recently intensified attacks on three communities, namely Gwana, Digare, and Kafin Duguri, forcing people in neighbouring Mansur community to flee from the town.

According to the Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, who briefed newsmen on Thursday on the prevailing security concerns in Alkaleri border communities, efforts are being made to secure the affected areas.

The Commissioner, represented by the Command Public Relations Officer, SP Nafiu Habib, acknowledged that “in recent days, there has been a resurgence of security concerns in Gwana, Digare, and Kafin Duguri in the Alkaleri Local Government Area”.

“Following a thorough security assessment, the Command, in collaboration with sister security agencies, has initiated a massive deployment of joint security personnel to the affected communities with a view to suppressing the activities of these criminal elements.

“It is important to inform the public that these border communities have faced security challenges for some time due to the infiltration of criminal elements from neighboring states.

“On this note, the Command reassures the residents of Mansur town, in Alkaleri LGA, who fled their homes, that the security situation is under control. Despite recent incidents in neighboring Gwana District, Mansur town remains unaffected, and there is no cause for alarm.
