The 2023 Christmas celebration of the kwapre village in Hong local government area of Adamawa state was disrupted with an attack by suspected reminants of Boko Haram terrorists claiming lives of two locals.
Reports from the area indicated that the suspected terrorists launched the attack on Monday’s evening as villagers were busy with the Christmas celebration which forced them to scamper for safety as they carted away food stuffs from the villagers.
District head of Dugwaba community,Mr. Simon Buba told the media that, the attackers suspected to be members of the Boko Haram invaded the village on motor cycles concificating food items from villagers and dashed towards sambisa forest.
Mr. Buba also confirmed that two persons were killed during the attack throwing the masses in to panic and uncertainty.
Confirming the development, the police image maker of the state command,SP Sulaiman Nguroje said report has reached the command of the attack on kwapre community in Hong local council .
SP Nguroje disclosed that, the incident occurred on Monday, Christmas day, and an investigation has since commenced.
“The Commissioner of Police, Babatola Afolabi, has deployed Anti- riot detectives to the area directing a discreet investigation in to the matter.
“And the general public should report any suspicious character to the police and other security agencies to ensure safety in the state and country at large”. Nguroje added
Public analysts interviewed on the matter were of the notion that the suspected terrorists were pushed out of their enclaves in the bushes by hunger and use the festive period to get enough food stuffs calling on governments to do more in stamping them(terrorists) out completely.
