TETFund allocates N30b to 18 institutions for high impact projects

The Tertiary Education Trust Fund, TETFund has allocated thirty billion Naira (N30b) to 18 tertiary institutions across the country for high impact projects.
This was disclosed by the Executive Secretary of TETfund, Arc. Sonny Echono, during a press briefing on the breakdown of the approved 2023 intervention guidelines, in Abuja.
Echono explained that the allocation are rotational, noting that each institutions are picked from the 6 geopolitical zone annually.
He added that the sum of N3billion will be disburse to each university, while each Polytechnic and Colleges of education will get N1billion each.
According to him, the allocation is shared equally regardless of the size, needs or population of the institutions.
The TETFund boss noted that the allocation is classified into two categories, special disbursement and designated projects.
“Under the special disbursements, there is high impact projects, the reason behind this is the realization that if we share the whole full amount of the revenue, spreading all our resources, Jon of the institutions will be able to do any high impact projects.
“So, we thought that what we rather do, is to do this rotation and should concentrate on institutions so that they can do a certain projects.
“So that if you finish , you move to others, the way you can achieve. Each year , we take six universities, six polytechnics, six colleges of education.
“We do this rotation , all that got last year, will it get. We do six each year , we take one from each geopolitical zone”, he stated.
According to him, the universities are :Ibrahim Gbadamosi University, Niger state (North Central), Federal University of Wukari , Taraba state( North -east), Federal University of Birnin Kebbi, ( North West), Imo state university of Agriculture and Environmental Science , Imo state( South East), Edo state University, Uzairue, (south south), and Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo state( Southwest).
Also the polytechnic that benefitted are: Federal polytechnic, Offa, Kwara state, Federal Polytechnic, Katingo, Gombe state, Federal Polytechnic, Kano, Kano state, Anambra Polytechnic, Anambra state, Federal polytechnic of Oil and Gas, Bonny, Rivers state and , Oyo state colleges of Agriculture and Technology, Oyo state.
While the Colleges of Education are as follows: Plateau state colleges of education, federal college of education, yoga, Adamawa state, Federal college of education, Zaria, Kaduna state , Enugu state college of education, Enugu state, Delta state college of education, Warri, and Tai solarin college of education, Ogun State.
