The Public Service Institute of Nigeria,PSIN has seek for more deeper partnership with the Tertiary Education Trust Fund , TETFund to promote continuous training and development of public servants.
This was made known by the Chief Executive Officer, CEO of PSIN, Barrister Imeh Okoh during a courtesy visit to the TETFund headquarters in Abuja.
She explained that the visit an opportunity to review existing collaborations and explore new areas of partnership aimed at improving efficiency and professionalism in Nigeria’s public service.
Barrister Okon, added that it was also to deepen collaboration with TETFund and strengthen capacity-building programs across ministries and agencies.
“Our goal is to be the first point of call for all public service training needs. We want to expand areas like leadership development, digital skills, and pre-retirement training, while exploring new initiatives such as Smart-P and Lead-P to prepare officers for higher responsibilities,” she explained.
She also advocated early preparation for retiring officers through PSIN’s Exit Masterclass, designed to help them integrate smoothly into post-service life.
She proposed making universities more in tune with the public service by enhancing sabbatical engagements.
She noted that the idea is to convert university research into policies that can be used to address public service challenges.
Responding, the Executive Secretary, TETFund Arc. Sonny Echono emphasized the importance of continuous professional development to help public servants adapt to a rapidly changing governance environment.
