To ensure a hitch-free Easter celebration in Abuja, the FCT Police Command has deployed human and material resources at the Command’s disposal across the nooks and crannies of the nation’s capital territory.
The proactive security measure is characterized by visibility policing and the deployment of explosive ordinance devices (EOD) experts at various places of worship and event centres.
Also, there would be raids on identified black spots, uncompleted buildings/shanties, stop and search, and vehicular/foot patrol.
A statement from the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO),,SP Josephine Adeh, said the deployment is aimed at ensuring that residents of FCT enjoys a peaceful and serene atmosphere, before, during and after the Easter celebration.
It added that the Commissioner of Police FCT, CP Benneth C. Igweh urges residents to give the police operatives utmost cooperation, as the deployments is solely aimed at ensuring the safety of the populace.
He also calls on Christian faithfuls in FCT, as they join others around the world in the celebration to embrace the virtues of the festivity, while reassuring the populace of his commitment to ensure the safety of all and sundry.
