*Holds NEC meeting on 25th of this month

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has emphatically declared that President Bola Tinubu and his party, All Progressives Congress, APC, can never get a second term in office come 2027, stressing that Nigerians will definitely reject the them.
While describing Tinubu as a “bad market”, the PDP maintained that no patriotic Nigerian, or political party, or group, or anybody, feeling the insecurity in the land, feeling the fact that the economy is comatose, will vote for the President and APC.
The National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Hon Debo Ologunagba stated this during an interactive session with journalists in Abuja on Monday.
Ologunagba noted that with all of these litany of frustration, policies summersault, disregard for peoples lives and then above all of this insecurity and the hopelessness and the helplessness that the APC government Under Tinubu has shown, no patriotic Nigerian will support them in 2027.
According to the NPS of the PDP: “The APC cannot have a second term with President Tinubu or any of these candidates because the PDP is recalibrating and Nigerians are looking forward to having a PDP government that can connect to them, that will listen to them, and that will not say, take it or leave it.
“So we’re connected to the people. So with this failure, the litany of failures, I can tell you, that no patriotic Nigerian, and this is important, no patriotic Nigerian, because I won’t say right thinking, but no patriotic Nigerian, no humane Nigerian, no group or political party, that will support Tinubu for in 2017.
“It is clear that, President Tinubu is a bad market, So you don’t touch it. So in 2017, there’s no patriotic Nigerian, or political party, or group, or anybody, feeling what you and I feel, feeling the insecurity, feeling the fact that the economy is comatose, will vote for them.
“So, with all of these litany of frustration, policies summersault, disregard for peoples lives and then above all of this insecurity and the hopelessness that the APC government Under Tinubu has shown, no patriotic Nigerian will support or vote for the party.
Continuing, Ologunagba said, “Now, we’re no longer bothered about killings. Only last week or so, how many hundreds were killed in plateau?
“It’s becoming like a new normal and so for us, Tinubu is bad market and a one-time president by these failures in government and record.
“So, the shenanigans of the APC, promoting crises, trying to mitigate and disorganize opposition parties, Again, Mr. President, the APC leadership knows it, Nigerians are not defecting to you because they are constantly under the pressure of your ill-conceived policies and your insensitivity in government.
“Therefore, the APC cannot have a second term with President Tinubu or any of these candidates because the PDP is recalibrating and Nigerians are looking forward to having a PDP government that can connect to them, that will listen to them, and that will not say, take it or leave it”, he stated.
Speaking on the state of PDP, Ologunagba said, “one thing is clear, the PDP is very strong. We have started the process of recalibrating, coming together in unity because the strength of this party is in the people across the country, in the local areas.
“So, we are focused, we’re recalibrating, we’re united and we’re working together and working towards having a very successful national convention.
“In the euphoria in the last couple of days, we have been recording some defections, our party is organic and very formidable.
“It is important to make it clear that it is the people that truly make a party. Yes, leaders are important, individuals are very critical because, there can’t be leaders without followers.
“So, those followers are there. What is good for the party is the fact that the people are not defecting.
“Because the people are not defecting from hunger, they’re not defecting from insecurity. Only two days ago, our Anambra state candidates was attacked here in Abuja.
“It goes to underscore the level of insecurity in this country under this rudderless and irresponsible APC government that is completely insensitive”, he said.
The NPS of PDP, confirmed that that the next National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party has been slated for the 23rd, 24th, and 25th of this meeting, stressing that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has been duly communicated to.
His words, “All NEC members, as provided for in our Constitution, Section 31, Subsection 1, are invited and are expected at the meeting.
“We have always established this, we are a party of law, and more importantly, we are a party of the Constitution.
“And so, we are guided by this document, which is the Constitution of the Peoples Democratic Party, as amended in 2017.
” I just referenced Section 31 that relates to the NEC. And what it says in that section, it talks about the National Executing Committee and talks about Establishment and Composition.
“Because we are Constitutionally guided by what we do. We want to be guided at all times, so that we do things in accordance with the law, in accordance with the Constitution, and to ensure that every organ of the party and every member of the party are guided by this document.
“And I just want to create an indulgence to read very slowly, so that we can all be abreast. With the provision of Section 31, Subsection 1 of our Constitution.
“That is, with the National Executive Committee of the party, which is the NEC. And of course, the meeting is scheduled for the 23rd, 24th, and 25th and INEC, has been duly communicated to”, he said.
