Members of the All Progressives Congress in Borno State on Saturday turned out in large numbers to overwhelmingly endorse President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the party’s presidential primary election conducted across the 312 wards of the state.
From the Maiduguri metropolis to remote hinterland communities, enthusiastic party supporters queued behind the portrait of President Tinubu in the direct primary exercise, demonstrating strong solidarity and support for his candidacy ahead of the 2027 general elections.
At Mafa Ward, Babagana Umara Zulum delivered 2,175 votes representing 100 percent support for President Tinubu in his polling ward.
Similarly, the APC gubernatorial candidate, Engr. Mustafa Gubio, participated in the exercise at Gubio 1 Ward in Gubio Local Government Area, where he delivered 5,980 votes for the President.
Speaking after the exercise, Gubio commended residents for the impressive turnout and pledged continued mobilisation ahead of the general elections.
“You have seen how people have turned out. The turnout is massive. I therefore want to thank the people of Gubio that came from far and near to their respective wards to go out and elect Mr. President,” Gubio said.
“And Insha Allah, we will continue to mobilize people to see that in the main election, people of Gubio will vote massively for Mr. President, the Vice President, and also in the other elections,” he added.
Engr. Gubio also assured Governor Zulum that Gubio Local Government would deliver overwhelming votes for the APC in the forthcoming elections.
Across the state, members of the National Assembly equally delivered their respective wards and local government areas to President Tinubu during the exercise.
The presidential primary election was conducted peacefully amid large turnouts of party supporters in Biu, Askira/Uba, Malam Fatori, Monguno, Nganzai, Maiduguri metropolis, Jere, Kwaya Kusar, and other local government areas across the state.
