The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume said the policies of  President Bola Tinubu are intentional.

Akume stated this on Saturday in Abuja during the second graduation and prize giving day of Hands and Mind Integrated Schools.

Represented by Prof Babatunde, one of the Special Advisers to SGF,  he said some of the pogoes were seen in the subsidy removal policy, local government autonomy, students loan scheme.

At the event which was also to launch the school’s magazine, Akume said the government is making very efforts to be able to establish existing policies so that the country can stand on firm ground.

“The government is one of intentionality, hence the subsidy removal, LG allocation autonomy, and very soon, even the election to be conducted will be done directly by INEC or some other bodies constituted.

“Now, in the educational sector, before the government came in, they promised autonomy and that is already ongoing. The government has reviewed salaries of the organized labour. So, it’s a governor of intentional policies.

“If you do not have these policies established and operationalized, the nation will continue to work on sharp sand and one day we will sink completely into it. We are making serious moves to establish existing policies so that the country can stand on firm ground.

“In terms of education, the government is doing very well and there are quite a number of things like the students loan scheme which had never been operationalized and this is an opportunity to equalise all humans” he said.

Also speaking, Minister of state for education, Dr. Tanko Sununu, harped on the importance of education.

Represented by Special Assistant- Technical, Dr. Claris Ujam, the minister said education is the responsibility of all, saying that t private schools are following the steps of government.

He said the ministry is promoting a policy of data responsibility to reduce the number of out of school children.

On her part, the  proprietress of the school, Mrs. Regina Akume said her passion for children was her major motivation to establish the school.

She said she has been assisting children with special needs in the her school and the country at large.
