Tinubu’s re-election vital to sustain economic reforms, Group says

The Data Analytics Group for Asiwaju has said the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in 2027 is critical to sustaining the administration’s economic reforms, security improvements, infrastructure development and investments in human capital.

The group argued that reversing the current policies could undermine the gains recorded since Tinubu assumed office.

Speaking at a press briefing in Abuja on Friday ,the group’s spokeswoman, Olatunbosun Akinosho, said the removal of fuel subsidy and the unification of the foreign exchange market had eliminated leakages and arbitrage in the economy.

She said the reforms had redirected resources to productive sectors while boosting investor confidence.

Akinosho said the administration surpassed its 2025 non-oil revenue target of over ₦20tn by August 2025, adding that ₦3.65tn was generated in September 2025 alone, representing a 411 per cent increase compared to May 2023.

She also said Nigeria’s external reserves rose to $42.03bn by September 2025, describing it as the highest level since 2019, while the stock market recorded significant growth in both the All Share Index and market capitalisation.

She said, “The short-term adjustment pains are the necessary price for long-term stability and prosperity. Re-electing President Tinubu ensures these gains in the economy, as well as security, infrastructure and human capital, are protected and accelerated rather than reversed.”

The spokeswoman stressed the need to counter misinformation, saying false narratives could erode public confidence in the administration and its reform agenda.

She added, “Debunking is non-negotiable. It protects public trust in the administration and reform agenda. It prevents voter apathy, polarisation and potential violence.

“It maintains the campaign’s credibility and moral high ground. It ensures Nigerians make decisions based on facts rather than fear or propaganda. In a data-driven world, allowing falsehoods to go unchallenged cedes narrative control to opponents.”

According to Akinosho, the group’s data analytics team is responsible for monitoring online conversations, tracking viral claims and identifying emerging misinformation trends in real time.

She said all rebuttals were evidence-based and supported by official statistics and verifiable reports, while all infographics and statistical claims undergo verification by the All Progressives Congress Campaign Council before publication.

“Our mission is to use data to illuminate the path of renewed hope, dismantle lies with facts and secure a decisive victory in 2027,” she added.

Also speaking, the group’s spokesman, Kolawole Sodipo, said the Tinubu administration had strengthened national security through increased defence spending and institutional reforms.

He said the establishment of the National Centre for the Coordination of Early Warning and Response, expansion of the Nigerian Army to 12 divisions and the recruitment of 28,000 personnel had enhanced the country’s security architecture.

Sodipo also claimed that government interventions had reduced fatalities from violent attacks, reclaimed previously ungoverned areas in the North-West, North-Central and South-East, and facilitated the release of kidnapped victims.

On youth and women, he said targeted interventions had reduced youth unemployment while programmes such as the Renewed Hope Conditional Cash Transfer continued to provide support for women across the country.
