The acting governor of Adamawa state, Alh. Umar Fintiri has cancelled the annual traditional Sallah homage in the state to commiserate with the victims of terror attacks and internally-displaced persons across the state.

In a statement issued at the weekend in Yola, signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the acting governor, Mr. Solomon Komanga, noted that the cancellation became necessary to complement the early decision taken by the Adamawa state Emirate Council, which cancelled all the annual programmes during the Eid-el-Kabir in the state.

The Acting Governor urged the people of Adamawa state to pray for the unity, peace and harmony for the state and country at large and congratulated the Muslim faithful on the Sallah festivity.

Those in attendance during the Edil Kabir prayers includes Lamido Adamawa,Muhammad Barkindo Aliyu Mustapha, Acting governor Umar Fintiri, former EFCC chairman, Malam Nuhu Ribadu, among other top government functionaries and top ranking tradition council members of the Emirate.
