The Kaduna State Police Command has reiterated its warning to heavy-duty truck drivers who are violating the ban on entering metropolitan areas.
The police stated that its operatives will no longer tolerate such blatant disregard for the directive.
According to DSP Hassan Mansir, the Police Public Relations Officer for Kaduna State, some truck drivers are deliberately ignoring the ban and entering the metropolis, which is causing public inconvenience and tension.
The police command has observed that when challenged by the Task Force responsible for enforcing the ban, some drivers resort to blocking major roads, halting vehicular movement, and creating a potential breakdown of law and order.
“The Command hereby warns all heavy-duty truck drivers to cease such unlawful acts,” Mansir stated.
“The police are advising drivers with grievances or complaints to address them through the appropriate authorities or the police, rather than engaging in actions that could disrupt public peace in the state.
“ The command is committed to maintaining law and order in Kaduna State and will take necessary actions against those who violate the ban”, the statement added.
