Tragedy: Kano Hisbah loses 3 female officials in road accident

No fewer than three female officials of the Kano State Hisbah Board died yesterday in a ghastly accident on their way to Doguwa Local Government for monitoring the state’s mass wedding scheme.

Eye witness accounts stated that the incident happened near Falgore when a motorcyclist, trying to cross the road, intercepted the Hisbah vehicle with ten officials on board, causing the explosion of the tire and the bus somersaulted several times.

The account added that, three of the eight female officials died instantly while five of them sustained various degrees of injuries.

Speaking, the Director General, Kano state Hisbah Command, Abba sa’idu Sufi, said the board has never faced such a tragedy since its inception, adding that the board has lost its only best female officials.

Devastated, Mallam Musa Inuwa, husband of Maryam Musa, one of the deceased officials, described the death as painful and tragic.

“This is the most painful death in my life. I can’t say anything but to pray to Allah to forgive her sins and rest her in jannatul firdausi.”

The deceased include, Kahdija A. Jibrin of Fagge Local Government, Hafsat M. Idris of Hotoro quarters and Maryam Musa, Sheka quarters.
