The Anambra State Governor, Willie Obiano, has terminated the appointment of all political appointees in his government.

Information about the termination was communicated to all the appointees in memo by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof Solo Chukwulobelu.

The memo requested all affected persons to submit properties of the state government in their possession.

He said: “Such appointees should handover government property in their possession on or before Wednesday.”

Obiano will vacate office on Thursday, March 17, after an eight-year term in the state.

Recall that former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Charles Chukwuma Soludo, was elected Governor through a majority vote last year November, after defeating his opponents in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), All Progressive Congress (APC), among others.

To this end, he is due for swearing in on March 17 at the Government House in Awka, to commence a four year mandate, though the incoming Governor has said the handover celebration will be low-key and with few family members and few key Government officials.

Soludo, a professor of Economics, graduated with First Class Degree from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Enugu State.
