Two herdsmen were reportedly killed while 232 cows rustled in Rengyel village of Jos South local government area of Plateau state on Sunday evening. The Plateau state chapter of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN) has said.

Alhaji Haruna Boro Hussaini, who is the state chairman of MACBAN, who disclosed this to People Daily yesterday, said that one of the corpses has been recovered by the personnel of the (STF) sector 6 while the other missing. He gave the names of the killed herdsmen as Saleh Mohammed (20), Aminu Inusa (25).

The chairman further said that, out of the 232 cattle rustled , 50 were killed while 182were still missing which according to him were taking to Vom village, in Jos-South LGA of the state.

He narrated that “the corpse of Saleh Muhammad has been traced but that Aminu Inusa is still missing and we are assuming he was also killed. The thieves also killed 50 cattle. We have information that the cattle were moved to Vom and the sad part of the incident is that once our cattle are taken to Vom, they don’t come out because even security men are unable to go there and get them”.

When contacted on the incident, the Media and Information Officer of the STF, Captain Ikedichi Iweha said was not aware but get back to peoples Daily if investigated.
