Two suicide bombers were said to have killed themselves yesterday in Gombe when the bomb in their possession exploded living them dead.

According to eyewitness account who spoke to our correspondent, the incident occurred at 7:30pm at Kasuwa mata when two suicide bombers on a Keke Napep ran out of luck and were killed when the bomb they were carrying exploded.

Speaking further, the source revealed that the suicide bombers were planning to bomb one of the Mosques in the area before they ran out of luck, but noted that during the blast worshipers were already gathered at the mosque to pray before the incident occurred.

He said the blast took place few meters away from one of the Joint Military Task Force (JTF) base in the metropolis.

The source also said that during the blast some of the Almajiri who were sitting at the side of the road sustained injuries but added that casualty would have been high if the suicide bombers had succeeded in their mission.

He explained that no one could tell exactly whether the suicide bombers were targeting security agents who were on patrol in the metropolis, noting that Gombe have suffered series of attacks by suicide bombers in the recent times.

When our correspondent contacted the Police Public Relations for clarification it proves abortive as his cell phones were switched off as at the time of filling this report.
