Some renowned Nigerians, including the National President for Amalgamated -Union of Motor Mechanics and Technicians Of Nigeria (AUOMMATION), Engr Oseni Akinola Suleiman is due to bag an honorary doctorate degree in Business Administration of a prestigious university in the United States.
Also, the 2nd Vice President for Chartered Institute of Bankers Of Nigeria, Mrs Mojisola Bakare will bag honorary doctorate degree in Banking & Finance, its Registrar, Akin Murankiyo HCIB, will bag honorary doctorate degree in Financial Management; and the Director General of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, Captain Chris Onah Najomo is nominated for an honorary doctorate degree in Public Policy and Administration.
The honorary doctorate degree awards conferment ceremony by Highstone Global University,Texas,USA will hold December 7th at the University of Lagos.
Otunba Aderemi Bojela, a prominent industrialist, and economist with over forty years of transformative contributions to Nigeria’s manufacturing and consumer credit sectors is among the leading awardees.
Also, Chief Madugba Kelechi, the Chairman and CEO, Gemnka Nig Ltd, is expected to bag doctorate degree in Petroleum Economics during the ceremony for his impacts in the sector, while Dr. Anthonia Ada Utomi, the Managing Director/CEO of Anthomi properties Nigeria Limited, will be honored as the Leadtimes Africa Real Estate Woman of the Year 2024 during the occasion. The award is in recognition of her enviable records made in the Real Estate sector as a woman.
Also, Umar Mohammed, Chairman/CEO of UBUILD Real Estate with over 25 years of experience in business management, logistics and procurement, will bag Doctor of Business Administration (honoris causa) at the occasion slated to be held at the University of Lagos.
Equally, Mr Ololade Malik Ademola, Branch Controller of Central Bank of Nigeria, Abeokuta,Ogun State Branch will bag honorary doctorate degree in Banking and Finance during the event.
Other awardees are the President/chairman of Council of Institute of Chartered Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, Mrs Funmi Ekundayo; Group CEO of Asset and Resource Management, Mrs Jumoke Ogundare; Group Financial Controller of Sterling Asset Management and Trustees Limited Group, Abimbola Olufunke Abioye; and the Executive Director of Nova Merchant Bank Ltd, Olufunke Gloria Okoya.
Others penciled down for the honour include Mr. Emeka Nnadozie, Managing Director/CEO of Dozek Lab & Scientific Supplies Ltd and Arc.Shehu Ahmed Tukur, Principal Partner of Canonic Associates Ltd.
A press statement by the co-convener of the annual summit and awards, Professor Buba S. Mshelia who is also the Advisory Board Chairman of Leadtimes Africa, said, “Selection of these awardees were done in a very rigorous and competitive manner; parameters used to select nominees include aggregate of positive impacts made by individual especially in their community development efforts, award of scholarships to the youth in their local communities.
“We also look at the empowerment programme initiatives carried out by the nominees across their local communities; and above all, how they have touched the lives of the less privileged, the most vulnerable, the widows, among others.”
The awards list also included the TETFund Director, Abdulmumin Banji Oniyangi; Managing Director/CEO of First City Monumental Bank(FCMB), Mrs Yemisi Edun; and Hajiya Risikatu Ahmed, Managing Director/CEO of Aso Savings and Loans.

Also listed for the honorary awards are the Special Adviser to Imo State Governor, and President of Oru Progressive Association, High Chief Marcel Okoro; Surv.Emmanuel Njoku, Abia State chairman of Association of Private Practising Surveyors of Nigeria who will be honored with Doctor of Construction Economics & Quantity Surveying (honoris causa); and Mrs Somachi Chris-Asoluka, Managing Director of Tony Elumelu Foundation who is nominated for honor in Strategic Management and Human Development of the Highstone GLOBAL University,Texas,USA.
