Former residents of Malali Low-Cost in Kaduna, whose homes were revoked and demolished, have been offered new plots as compensation by the Kaduna State Government.

This move fulfills a promise made by Governor Senator Uba Sani to provide justice to those affected.

The development follows a stakeholder meeting held on January 21, 2026, during which an investigation was ordered to examine the circumstances surrounding the demolition. The meeting resulted in a firm commitment from the State Government to compensate the displaced residents.

During the presentation of the new offers, DG KADGIS, Dr. Bashir Garba Ibrahim, urged the beneficiaries to develop the plots quickly and avoid reselling them. “We want you to become homeowners and contribute to the growth of our state,” he said.

Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, the chairman of the former Malali Low-Cost residents expressed deep gratitude to Governor Uba Sani for addressing their concerns and to KADGIS for facilitating the new allocation. He recalled their nine-year struggle to reach this point, calling the day a “final resolution” of their issues.

Other community members described the day as “historic” and praised the Governor for being compassionate and people-focused.

They prayed for his continued success in office, viewing the move as a sign of his dedication to the welfare of Kaduna residents.

The beneficiaries, who had been seeking justice for years, welcomed the new offers and committed to developing the plots as instructed by the government.
