The UKOMU Igala Organisation has concluded plans to host a fundraising dinner in Abuja as part of efforts to mobilise resources for community development projects.
The initiative, being driven under the Igala/Bassa Renaissance Project, is expected to bring together sons and daughters of the ethnic group, alongside key stakeholders and supporters.
The dinner is scheduled to hold on March 21 at the Armed Forces Officers’ Mess, Asokoro, Abuja.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by the organisation’s management and made available to journalists on Saturday.
According to the statement, the event is aimed at strengthening unity among Igala and Bassa people while generating funds to support strategic interventions across their communities.
“The organisation is targeting N500m from the fundraising dinner to drive critical development programmes and sustain the renaissance agenda,” the statement said.
It added that traditional leaders, professionals and well-meaning Nigerians had been urged to attend and contribute towards the success of the initiative.
