Unguwar Rimi lift engineer Yusuf Inter Pry schools soccer competition in Kaduna

LEA Ungwan Romi left no one in doubt of their superiority as they beat neighbours, LEA Ungwan Romi 2-0 to emerge winners of the Engineer Yusuf Best Inter Primary School Soccer Championship.
Both goals were scored within a spate of thirty seconds in the highly enterprising game, watched by several dignitaries.
The second half witnessed a goal drought, as both teams made futile efforts with none being converted.
Earlier in another explosive encounter, Model Primary School Kawo beat hosts, Ahmadu Bello Stadium (ABS) Primary School 3-1.
The first half ended with only one goal scored by the bronze medallists.
Midway into the second half, they increased the tally to make it 2-0, before ABS pulled one back.
A penalty that resulted from a hard tackle in the goal area was brilliantly saved by the ABS goal keeper, Isaac Demo, but shortly after, he conceded another goal after being overwhelmed by attacks from their opponents, bringing the match to an end 3-1.
High point of the closing ceremony was the presentation of trophies, medals a star prize of a computer set and a printer and other assorted prizes to winners.
Top team, Ungwan Rimi got a giant trophy and cartons of chalk. The other three runners-up got trophies and five cartons of chalk each.
Husseini Ahmed from Model Kawo emerged the Most Valuable Player (MVP) and received an individual trophy and playing boots.
Best Goalkeeper went to Isaac Demo of ABS, while Highest Goal Scorer was clinched by Shehu Abubakar if Ungwan Rimi, who netted eight goals. Each of them received a trophy and a pair of playing boots.
The sponsor, Engineer Yusuf Best in his magnanimity also presented each member of the top four teams with 10 branded exercise books.
Also as part of the closing ceremony, grassroots coaches in Kaduna North Local Government Area were presented with a book; ‘Rules Of Football’.
The soccer competition which was organised by the Kaduna North Football Council attracted several dignitaries which included Kaduna State Commissioner of Youth, Sports and Culture, Honourable Daniel Danauta, CEO of Kada City FC, Honourable Ekene Abubakar Adams, Chairman Maisamari Youth Football Association, Honourable Babami Danlami and the CEO WADSON Sports, Mr. Ogbonna Daniel.
Also spotted were the Secretary of the Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON) Kaduna State Chapter and Chairman of Kaduna North Football Council, Mallam Abdulrazak Usman and YSFON National Officer, Alhaji Abdulgafar Agboola, KSCD YOCA Boss, Coach Nasiru Chiji, as well as the Kaduna State Chairman of Petroleum and Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN), who was there with several of his executive officers.
