Uni–Abuja Vice-Chancellor assures NAAT of support

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Abuja, Prof. James Adelabu, has assured the National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT) of support to complete its national secretariat building at the university.

Adelabu, who gave the assurance during the foundation laying ceremony of the secretariat project on Wednesday at the university’s permanent site, said that his administration would continue to partner with the various associations in the institution to move the university forward.

He charged both officials and members of the association to work hard towards the completion of the secretariat project, as according to him, no mission is impossible for God.

He pleaded with the association to continue to contribute their quota technologically towards the development of the university.

Speaking earlier, the president of NAAT, Comrade Sani Suleiman, saying the association needed N400 million for the completion of the project.

He urged the members to remain committed to their duties for the benefit of the association.

He said that the association was charged with the responsibilities of taking the students on practical ranging from undergraduates, masters and PhD levels in the Nigerian universities.

While commenting on the state of infrastructural facilities at the universities across the country, Suleiman appealed to the government to provide equipment for the universities laboratories in the country.

The proposed permanent site of the school of nursing and midwifery in Gombe state will soon have a new look Peoples Daily gathered yesterday.

Speaking to correspondents shortly after inspecting the project in Dukku, the chief Engineer at the site, Mr. Anan Dandashi told newsmen that the work at the site has reach advance stage.

According to him, site engineers are trying their best to ensure that quality job is done in order to make the state government happy.

He said the proposed permanent site of the school which is located at Dukku has 8 classrooms with 4 hostels and administration block.

Dandashi also explained that people in area have been supportive with contractors at the site, stressing that without mutual understanding among contractors and the people there will be no meaningful development.
