UniAbuja sensitises students on corruption

The first edition of the quarterly Development Forum (DF) of the Department of Political Science and International Relations, University of Abuja on Thursday sensitised the students on the need to shun corruption in anywhere they found themselves.
Speaking at the occasion, the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Michael Adikwu who was represented by a director in charge of Development Office in the office of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. S.P.
Ejaro said the forum was in the right direction by organizing corruption crusade for the students of the university.
He said: “This forum is coming at a critical face in our nation history. Corruption is a major issue in Nigeria. The current APC government has made the fight against corruption in a major agenda of each administration since 2015”.
Adikwu, however, said his administration would support the forum, while commending the forum for its initiative.
In an interview with newsmen, the Head of Department of Political Science and International Relations in the University, Prof. James Nda Jacob, said the forum organized the corruption crusade in order inculcate moral values on the students who would become the future leaders of tomorrow.
He called on the political officeholders to always provide purposeful leadership capable of satisfying the aspirations of the citizens, and advised them to shun corrupt practices.
Presenting the forum’s lecture tagged “Corruption and The Future of Nigeria”, the Founding Executive Director in charge of African Centre for Leadership, Strategy & Development (CLSD), Dr. Otive Igbuzor, noted that President Buhari had already set the tone at the top for combating corruption in the country.
Igbuzor, appealed to Nigerians to join hands with the government to fight corruption in all ramifications for the betterment of the society.
