Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has called for stronger collaboration among state governors, saying unity and cooperation among leaders are essential to addressing Nigeria’s security and developmental challenges.
Kefas made the call on Monday while speaking with journalists after a one-day working visit to Sokoto State, where he commissioned the newly completed 5km Buzaye/J-Allen road network executed by Governor Ahmed Aliyu at a cost of over ₦3.7 billion.
The Taraba governor said greater cooperation among governors would enable them to collectively develop lasting solutions to the country’s pressing challenges.
“When people see us together, we will do a good job. The more united we are, the more we think about the problems of our people and work together to find solutions,” he said.
Kefas praised Governor Ahmed Aliyu’s administration, describing him as one of Nigeria’s best-performing governors.
“I’m happy to be here. I’ve seen what my colleague is doing, and I’m very impressed. I know he is a man with a very big heart, and he has more plans for the good people of Sokoto, especially in the area of security,” he said.
He congratulated the Sokoto governor for what he described as a successful administration, adding that his performance had already earned public recognition.
“His performance rating is excellent. My appeal to the people is to continue to give him maximum support,” Kefas added.
The visit underscored growing collaboration among state governors across party lines, with both leaders emphasizing unity and people-centred governance.
