As part of efforts to enhance development and strengthen urban renewal, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano state on Tuesday flagged-off the re-construction of the Zungeru road within the Sabon-Gari area in the Fagge Local Government Area (LGA).
A statement issued by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Mustapha Muhammad indicated that the 3.6 kilometer road project was initially awarded during the second tenure of Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso but was abandoned by the preceding administration in the state.
Delivering his address, Governor Yusuf, said the reconstruction of Zungeru road is part of his administration’s steadfastness in creating critical infrastructure for better living of citizens of the state.
He added that Kano as emerging mega city, deserves high-quality road infrastructure, assuring commitment of the government to enhance the people’s lives through execution of key developmental projects.
The governor tasked the contractor handling the road project to ensure timely completion and strict adherence to the stipulated rulers and guidelines.
He assured contractors in the state prompt payment of contracts completed.
