From Ado Abubakar Musa, Jos with agency report.
Following the recent announcement by the federal government on the ceasefire agreement between it and the militant Boko Haram sect, the United States government has confirmed that a deal between the parties involved was true.
The confirmation, which was yesterday revealed on the Hausa Service of the BBC by the US State Department spokesperson on foreign matters, Marie Harf, said America believed in the deal process between the parties involved.
She said, “We believe that ceasefire agreement between the Nigerian government and Boko Haram is true. Evidences have indicated this is being done and the Chibok girls would soon be released. “
Although the American government did not give any reason for authenticating the deal, many observers have discredited the ceasefire deal, especially following the recent attacks on villages of Borno and Adamawa over the weekend.
