Pope Leo XIV

The Catholic Pontiff, Pope Leo XIV has made an appeal for a truce in the war in Middle-East.

The Holy Father made the plea in a post on X Sunday appealing for a ceasefire in the region.

He called for an end to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, urging all parties to halt hostilities and return to negotiating table for peaceful dialogue.

According to the post, “On behalf of the Christians of the #MiddleEast, and of all women and men of good will, I appeal to those responsible for this conflict: cease fire!

“May paths of dialogue be reopened! Violence can never lead to the justice, stability and peace for which the people are waiting,” he wrote.

Recall that on March 5, Pope Leo released a video on praying that God would help world leaders renounce war as a means of resolving conflicts in an unusual appeal as the U.S.-Israeli bombing campaign against Iran pressed on.

“Lord, enlighten the leaders of the nations, so they may have the courage to abandon projects of death,” the pontiff said in the video message.

“Today we lift up our prayer for peace in the world, asking that nations renounce weapons and choose the path of dialogue and diplomacy,” he said.
