An Estate Surveyor and Valuer and Lead Consultant of St.Dyke Consulting
ESV Dike Stanley said valuation is important when applying for a visa .
Stanley said that Visa Valuation
it’s how consulates assess your application without really knowing you.
He said “Let’s be honest. Applying for a visa can feel like a test you didn’t sign up for. You’ve got your documents, your plans, and your hopes, but there’s something else quietly at play: how you’re being valued.
“As long as you don’t know what you ought to know, you don’t grow”.
Speaking yesterday in Abuja , he said
Most people don’t talk about it, but valuation plays a major role in visa applications.
“And no, I don’t mean how much your visa costs. I’m talking about how the embassy looks at you, your story, your background, your financial life, and decides if you’re “worth” approving”, he stated .
He stated that there are some silent checklists to think of while applying for visa valuation.
“Are you financially stable. Do you have strong ties to your home country? Is your travel purpose clear and believable? All of this builds your valuation and determines if you’re seen as a visitor or a potential risk?”
He emphasized that visa applications are never just about paper. They’re about perception. So the next time you’re applying, think beyond the checklist. Think about how you’re being valued. Because that more than anything could be the key to unlocking that visa.
Giving more sight, the estate consultant listed why knowing this terms matters, saying that
Your approval depends on it
even when all your documents are intact, if your overall profile doesn’t “feel right,” it could lead to a rejection. Embassies are looking for consistency and credibility.
It’s Not Always About the Money
Yes, bank statements matter, but it’s about the story they tell. “Do your finances match your travel plans, Are they steady or suspiciously boosted”.
He added that your country plays a role, too.
“Let’s be real. Some passports are stronger than others. But that makes it even more important for people like us to present well. Your valuation helps bridge that gap.
“ It shows
Intent and readiness
When your documents align with your goals and you communicate that clearly, it boosts your valuation. It shows you’re not just applying on vibes”.
