Manchester United striker Robin van Persie has been linked with a shock move to Turkey following a woeful start to the new campaign, reports Turkish publication Fanatik. Fenerbahce are allegedly looking to bring the former Arsenal man to Turkey in the near future, with the presence of former international teammate Dirk Kuyt thought to be an appealing factor.
After enjoying an outstanding first season with United, the Dutch captain has since struggled for form and been plagued by niggling injuries. Many thought new life would be breathed into the Dutch striker following the arrival of his compatriot Louis van Gaal, but with just three goals in nearly 700 minutes of football the new campaign is not looking any better than the one just gone.
The 31-year-old may be past his best, and like so many before he could be looking for a last big money move.
