Victor Osimhen’s future at Galatasaray has come under fresh scrutiny as tensions between the Nigerian striker and the Turkish champions continue to escalate during the closing stages of the summer transfer window.
Per reports, the Super Eagles forward recently revealed that Galatasaray have not paid his wages for the last three months, raising further questions about his long-term future at the club.
Signs of a strained relationship also emerged during Galatasaray’s 3-3 pre-season draw against Rennes on Sunday, when Osimhen reportedly declined the captain’s armband after it was offered to him.
The latest developments have reignited interest from several European clubs eager to secure the services of the 27-year-old.
Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur are understood to have submitted an offer worth around €60 million, but Galatasaray turned down the bid.
Chelsea have also reportedly revived their pursuit of the prolific striker as they look to strengthen their attacking options.
Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid are said to have made enquiries regarding Osimhen’s salary package at Galatasaray, with reports also claiming that the player’s representative has travelled to Madrid for transfer discussions.
With interest from top European clubs intensifying and uncertainty surrounding his situation in Turkey, speculation over Osimhen’s next move is expected to grow in the coming weeks.
