Vigilante rescues kidnapped couple in Delta

A vigilant group in Agbor community in Delta State known as Agbor Gha Ihun on Tuesday rescued a couple in the hands of kidnappers who kidnapped them on Monday while driving out from their house at the Delta State Property Development Authority ( DPDA) Estate in Agbor
It was gathered that the kidnappers established ransom of N10million contact with the couple’s family when the bubble of the rescue burst through arrest of one of them by the vigilant members who then led members to their hideout around Alifikede forest where the victims were rescued.
But the head of the group, Monday Kiyem who confirmed this to Journalists in the area, said the group had since the incident deployed members on information gathering that eventually paid off, noting that other members of the group escaped before the reinforced team arrived at their hideout, saying that a member of the group was arrested and at present helping the police with vital information but family sources said that they were at present being shielded from the public and undergoing medical examination because of the torture they were given by the kidnappers.
Meanwhile, the Police Commissioner in the state, Adeleke Adeyinka who spoke to Journalists in Asaba confirmed that the police were ready to partner other security agencies with a view to bringing all the hoodlums to book and make the state free.
He said that investigation was ongoing and on completion of investigation the arrested persons would be charged to court.
He therefore called on all stakeholders to join hands with the police to move the state forward.
