Date:

From Ado Abubakar Musa, Jos

A village head and six others were killed in a communal clash between members of Pai and Shiwer communities of Pankshin and Kanke local government areas of Plateau state.

This was contained in a press release signed by the youth leader of Pai district of Pankshin LGA, Mr Nathan Shamshi Tanat, yesterday in Jos.

The release denied that the Pai people lunched an attack on Shiwer community as alleged by the spokesman of Shiwer people. He described the Shiwer people as terrorist and a new version of “Boko Haram”, adding that Shiwer people had severally attacked villages of Pai district where people were killed and many wounded.

The release said, “Shiwer people are terrorists. They are our version of “ Boko Haram” . They killed the village head of Ban and set fire on him. They also killed six of our youths and burnt down houses in our district.”

It would be recalled that on Friday last week, there was a clash between the said communities following a land ownership tussle.

The youth leader in the release however called on all stakeholders concerned to urgently intervene on the matter to avoid further killing and destruction of properties.
