Vincent Enyeama too rusty to be called upon – Lille manager

Date:

Lille OSC manager Christophe Galtier has all but rejected the possibility of Nigerian goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama playing for the club in what remains of the 2017/18 season.
With Lille struggling near the bottom of France’s Ligue 1 and in a desperate fight to salvage their top flight status, Galtier is under pressure to try all of the options at his disposal.
But it seems calling on the former Super Eagles goalkeeper, who has not featured for Lille this season due to a knee injury, is not on the cards.
“It’s a reflection I had and I still have. He [Enyeama] has not played for a year at this level. He is still handicapped in relation to his injury and many things he cannot do,” Galtier is quoted by L’Equipe.
Enyeama has requested to play in Lille’s reserve matches in order to regain fitness and have match practice.
The veteran goalkeeper has been overlooked by Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr for much the same reasons as mentioned by Galtier.
