War against corruption: CIFCIN calls for adoption of fraud prevention mechanisms

Hon. Olubode Oni, Chairman of the Lagos State chapter of Chartered Institute of Forensic and Fraud Investigators (CIFCIN) has admonished both public and private enterprises to ensure they adopt mechanisms towards preventing fraudulents acts in the society.

Hon. Oni argued that once the incidents of frauds are prevented, it will help to reduce fraud related cases than looking for ways to expose perpetrators of fraudulent acts.

Hon. Olubode Oni made the call during a courtesy visit to the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS ) Lagos Island Region as part of activities to mark the Anti-Fraud Week.

He maintained that strategic collaboration and synergy amongst relevant agencies and professional bodies will enhance the modus operandi of FIRS in increasing its targets.

On his part, the Head of Investigation, FIRS Prince Adeniran applauded the vision of the CIFCIN to assist the agency in fraud detections and training.

Adeniran noted that the FIRS has introduced new techniques in tax collection which has made it friendly to the citizenry to pay tax without any harassment. END.
