We have Enyeama’s replacement, says Agu

Date:

Former National team Captain Aloy Agu has dismissed fears that the Super Eagles would run short of good goalkeepers immediately after Vincent Enyeama.

Agu who also stood between the sticks for the Super Eagles from 1990-1993 said there are good goalkeepers in the local league that would fit in favourably to the shoes of the former Enyimba of Aba safe hand.

“There are good goalkeepers in our local leagues that would take over from Vincent Enyeama when he decides to hang his gloves. Don’t forget Austin Ejide is also there, same to Chigozie Agbim. In the local league, we have good and young goalkeepers who can fit in at any point in time. I have been in the league; I know what is talking about”.

Continuing, the former ACB of Lagos goalkeeper said “what we need now is to start inviting this goalkeepers to camp on regular basis, so that they would be understudying these experience hands, so that there would not be any vacuum whatsoever whenever these players decide to quit”   Aloy Agu who is the National U.23 goalkeeper coach concluded.
