A Nigerian born United States trained foremost Economist, Mr. Olisa Uzoewulu has said that Nigerians need to find solutions to its numerous challenges and stop describing it as they are presently doing.
Mr. Uzoewulu noted that the time is now for Nigerians in their millions to put head together and solve their legion of problems and stop rhyming it like nursery hymn.
Uzoewulu who made this known in Abuja last week while interacting with newsmen in his Abuja home, stated that Nigeria’s problems are known to all and we should do ourselves good by providing lasting solution to it.
His words, “The issue is about leadership and solution. We are always in the habit of describing the problems and not providing solution to it. The problems are well known to the least person in the country. It is time we stop giving description, but provide solution to the problem for us to move ahead as a nation. We know the problem confronting us in the country and we have to stop talking about it. The only thing to do is to proffer solutions that will endure”.
The Abuja based politician said that lack of patriotism is the main problem affecting the development of the nation saying that leaders most show selflessness in all their endeavours for the nation to move forward.
“Leadership is lacking in our system and patriotism is not there anymore. Your selflessness as a leader should not be in wearing Igbo dress in Igbo land and Hausa dress in Hausa land. Your nationalism should be in your heart even if you are wearing knickers”.
On the possibility of China transferring its technology to Nigeria in fulfillment of the technology transfer promise, Uzoewulu said that technology cannot be transferred but can only be acquired by Nigerians through diligent monitoring and learning.
