We will no longer tolerate laxity from officers – Chief of Naval Staff

Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Usman JibrinThe Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Usman Jibrin has said that the service will no longer tolerate any form of laxity from personnel especially as they grow through the ranks.

Jibrin, who was represented by the Naval Chief of Policy and Plans, Rear Admiral Amin Ikioda stated this at the decoration ceremony of nine Lieutenants who were elevated to the rank of Lieutenant Commanders.

He told the newly promoted officers that they are expected to work harder than they did on their last rank adding that expectations of the service from them will be higher and their response time is expected to increase from what it used to be.

“As a result of this promotion, what we use to tolerate from you as Lieutenants will no longer be tolerated; as you go higher, our expectations from you will go higher too” the Naval chief said.

He urged them to work harder so as to be considered for the next elevation.
