The President of the Nigeria Weightlifting Federation (NWF), Dr Ibrahim Aladi Abdul, has extended warm felicitations to Muslim faithful across Nigeria and the global sporting community on the occasion of the 2026 Eid-el-Adha celebration.
Dr Abdul described Eid-el-Adha as a season of sacrifice, obedience, compassion and unity, urging Nigerians to continue to uphold the values of peace, tolerance and love for one another irrespective of ethnic, religious or social differences.
The NWF President also called on athletes, coaches, administrators and stakeholders in the sports sector to use the festive period to pray for the continued growth of Nigerian sports and the success of the nation’s athletes at international competitions.
According to him, “Eid-el-Adha reminds us of the virtues of sacrifice, discipline and faith, values that are also essential in sports and nation-building. I encourage all Nigerians to continue to promote peace, unity and mutual respect as we work together for a better and stronger country.”
Dr Abdul further prayed for Allah’s mercy, blessings and good health upon all Nigerians, while wishing Muslim faithful a peaceful and joyous celebration with their families and loved ones.
“May Allah accept our sacrifices, forgive our shortcomings and bless our nation with enduring peace, progress and prosperity,” he added.
