Benue State Governor Rev Fr. Hyacinth Alia has warned sternly that his administration would not hesitate to sanction any top echelon of the Civil service found wanting.
This is even as he stressed that persistency and determination to succeed should be the guiding principles of Civil Servants.
Governor Alia who said this on Tuesday at Government House during the swearing in of 13 new permanent secretaries, averred that discipline and respect for constituted authority should be their watchword.
He explained that government carried out due diligence in their appointment which is based on their proven integrity and exemplary conduct in service.
“Your appointment is not for political patronage but reward for hard work. Hence, you need to brace up to the responsibilities ahead of you. Any one found wanting will be made to face appropriate sanction. Do everything to justify the confidence reposted in you. You are duty bound to implement the seven point agenda of this Government”.
