The Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command, Olusola Odumosu said his officers are physically fit and committed to rid the FCT of vandals.

Odumosu stated this on Saturday, during the maiden edition of the FCT-NSCDC 10-kilometre Route March.

He said the exercise which came just few days after the country’s 65th Independence Anniversary was meant to ensure officers fitness in the discharge of their duties.

“The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, is celebrating this milestone by reassuring the residents of the Federal Capital Territory of our unwavering commitment to their safety, security, and the maintenance of law and order.

“This event is not just a march; it is a symbol of discipline, fitness, resilience, and unity. As security operatives, our duty demands that we remain physically fit, mentally alert, and emotionally stable to confront the challenges of protecting lives, property, and critical national assets. The route march is therefore designed to build endurance, strengthen teamwork, and reinforce the bond of comradeship that defines the military and paramilitary services worldwide.

I want to remind each and every one of us that health is wealth. While we remain steadfast in discharging our duties to the nation, we must also prioritize our personal well-being. I encourage you to sustain this energy, as physical fitness is inseparable from operational efficiency.
