Executive Secretary, Social Development Secretariat, of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA),Mrs. Blessing Onuh, has expressed readiness to host the 2014 Abuja National Carnival billed to commence by the end of November, 2014.

Shenoted that all required for the event has been put in place to achieve the success of the carnival, sayingall the main and sub-committees critical to the success of the event will be inaugurated in no distant time.

Speaking through Director of Tourism in the secretariat, Mrs. Irene Elegbede, the Secretary, disclosed that the government have acknowledgement of participation from delegates from other parts of the world to join the thousands in Nigerians from different tribe and ethnic groups that will participate in the carnival.

“This year’s carnival promises to be a success going by the plans already put in place by the organizers. It will offer a great opportunity for showcasing of different side attractions, including street music rally, children fiesta, durbar, cultural parade among other things.

“Abuja is the federal capital territory as well as the seat of government. So we suppose to showcase our culture of every tribe of Nigeria in full. We have acknowledgement of participation from delegates from other parts of the world to join the thousands in Nigerians from different tribe and ethnic groups that will participate in the carnival”.

Mrs. Onuh, however, promised on behalf of the security sub-committee to guarantee maximum security for all local and foreign participants that will attend the carnival.

The carnival with the theme ‘Building an Enduring Creative Nation’ will also showcase craft exposition, different Nigerian Cuisine, cultural dances and command performances.
