…Installed 254,690 road signs

The Federal Government said it has marked 2,270,319 linear meter of lanes and has installed 254,690 road signs in all the constructed 92, 290.34 kilometres of roads nationwide in 8years of Buhari’s led administration.
Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, who made this know to journalist in Abuja, at a Media Presentation on “ Tour of Duty as HM of the Federal Republic if Nigeria : A Time and Economic Resource Report (2015-2023)”.
Fashola said that the Ministry of Works and Housing under his leadership has undertaken projects comprising over 1,706 contracts in 1,649 projects aggregating to over 13,000 Km of Roads and Bridges infrastructure as well as other housing Sector activities.
“The progressive legacies of the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration has become real in infrastructure development and human capital development”.
Fashola stated that the administration inherited N18 for road projects all over the country which they realised was not enough for one major road and it successfully changed it to over N200bn.
“ We have also created 383,431 jobs”.
Giving more sight on the scorecard, speaking on the housing project, he that”The ministry issued 1,262 building contracts,We have undertaken projects on 46site with 6,068 housing units.We have completed 2,870 Housing-units in 35states including Federal Captial Territory( FCT)”.
Similarly, he noted that, the national housing programme phase ll facility management, has total number of tool and consumables for facility management a total 18,478, and national housing programme estate workForce 2022 a total no 1,345”.
He added A total of 6,685 certificates of occupancy(C of O) has been signed from 2015- march, 2023 and 3,043 consent granted, land registration is fully digitalized and 50,000 files has been worked on “.
“From January 2015-march 2023 N13,098,476,244.22
was revenue generated from home ownership and easy doing business”, he said.
The Minister explained for the federal secretariat it has a total no of tools and consumables of
30,912 and facility management of 28Nos. federal secretariat work force 2020, 1,548.
Fashola said the second Niger bridge, which had stayed untouched for about five decades by previous administrations, was one of the mega projects executed by the Buhari administration.
He stated that what remains to be completed was a little stretch from the Asaba and Anambra axis.
