Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola has revealed that his Ministry has successfully constructed internal road networks at 46 federal tertiary institutions across Nigeria.
The Minister disclosed this during the handing over of the federal government intervention of internal roads for the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Kano, held at the hospital’s premises yesterday.
Represented by the federal controller in Kano, Engineer Yahaya Baba Ali said the ministry had handed over 29 of the roads in 2021, while 17 are completed and ready for hand over.
Fashola added that currently, construction works of 30 roads in similar institutions are ongoing nationwide, reaffirming the federal government’s resolve to provide more of such infrastructures in its tertiary institutions in the country, such as schools and other federal institutions.
The minister, said the federal government was committed to repairs of roads at federal tertiary institutions Across the Nation.
Earlier, the Chief Medical Director of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital Professor Abdurrahman Abba Sheshe Applaud the foresight and commitment of the federal government for executing the project.
He noted that the intervention would go a long way in easing transportation hardship in the hospital community, and urged the staff and visitors of the hospital to make utilize the facility judiciously.
Professor Sheshe Commended philanthropist who has supported the hospital through donations of cash and the construction of important buildings, the purchase of essential equipment Among others.
